A Prayer Request for Missionaries was just sent to me and I'm asking for your prayers too

Prayer Request from Dan and Marilyn Wilson

Missionaries who are in the areas that are being attacked by ISIS are asking to be showered in prayer. ISIS has taken over the town they are in today. He said ISIS is systematically going house to house to all the Christians and asking the children to denounce Jesus. He said so far not one child has. And so far all have consequently been killed. But not the parents. The UN has withdrawn and the missionaries are on their own. They are determined to stick it out for the sake of the families even if it means their own deaths. They are very afraid, have no idea how to even begin ministering to these families who have had seen their children martyred. Yet he says he knows God has called them for some reason to be His voice and hands at this place at this time. Even so, they are begging for prayers for courage to live out their vocation in such dire circumstances. And like the children, accept martyrdom if they are called to do so. These brave parents instilled such a fervent faith in their children that they chose martyrdom. Please surround them in their loss with your prayers for hope and perseverance.

One missionary was able to talk to her brother briefly by phone. She didn't say it, but I believe she believes it will be their last conversation. Pray for her too. She said he just kept asking her to help him know what to do and do it. She told him to tell the families we ARE praying for them and they are not alone or forgotten -- no matter what. Please keep them all in your prayers.

This came this morning...Just a few minutes ago I received the following text message on my phone from Sean Malone who leads Crisis Relief International (CRI). We then spoke briefly on the phone and I assured him that we would share this urgent prayer need with all of our contacts.

"We lost the city of Queragosh (Qaraqosh). It fell to ISIS and they are beheading children systematically. This is the city we have been smuggling food to. ISIS has pushed back Peshmerga (Kurdish forces) and is within 10 minutes of where our CRI team is working. Thousands more fled into the city of Erbil last night. The UN evacuated its staff in Erbil. Our team is unmoved and will stay. Prayer cover needed!" Please pray sincerely for the deliverance of the people of Northern Iraq from the terrible advancement of ISIS and its extreme Islamic goals for mass conversion or death for Christians across this region. May I plead with you not to ignore this email. Do not forward it before you have prayed through it.

Then send it to as many people as possible. Send it to friends and Christians you may know. Send it to your prayer group.

Though some of what the email you sent is true, there is some discernment needed here. I pray for the folks affected, but this email started circulating a year ago. It isn't currently happening.

Thanks. God bless.

In posting 'a prayer request' and sharing from an email that had been sent to me the day before (August 10th) I was not aware of how long ago the post was being sent or published. Regardless, for me personally it is a reminder to pray for Christians who have suffered and are suffering for wanting to follow Jesus and are trying to live as He would have us to live day by day.

Praying for others sometimes helps us to have a Body of Christ focus; the missionaries and the people that they minister to by the grace and tender mercies of our Lord... the grief that these missionaries and the people who suffered the horrific experiences of seeing their children killed so cruelly will endure the loss from now on. They will always be needing people to care and to pray. This is a good time to pause and pray for them now.......

To say this isn't happening now and that it is in the past... well the only thing I can say is "God KNOWS", and won't go into saying more regarding the comment....

Kevin, thank you so much for liking the post. You and others' who used to post regularly ... well, just know that you are not forgotten and are remembered in prayer as the Lord brings you to mind individually and I do miss the posts from those of you who used to post regularly, and also miss the fellowship that was generated via your postings.

God bless you all.

Love and prayers,
Ginger

PS the link posted in the comment above... was also posted in a comment shortly after I entered the post and I clicked on it back then, and had serious computer problems. I wrote an email to the webmaster from another computer and he removed the comment with the link. Now the same link is in the comment above.... I certainly won't click on the above link due to having to have my computer repaired.  The problem with my computer happened as soon as I clicked the link.  I'm very thankful that the webmaster removed that comment before and pray that the link being posted again does not cause anyone problems. Perhaps it was a coincidence but the problem I had happened as soon as I clicked on the link. Sorry if this post may be lacking something meaningful .... "God Knows".... thank you and God bless. And Kevin, seeing your name and that you liked the post, well,  it is so nice to have God bless me by you putting you name on the screen, :-) Consider yeself hugged (((((Kevin))))) ... and thank you again Kevin! :-) God Bless you!!!

As a point of clarification, the link Ginger spoke of was an errant link contributed in error by another member of the community. The one above is accurate and links to the snopes website indicating that the e-mail being forwarded is partly true.

For your own computer safety it is my recommendation to not click on links provided in public forums, but if you are interested enough in a link that someone posts, copy the URL and use a search engine such as google to look for that link. It will provide additional layers of safety to you as a computer user.
