Thoughts on Memorial Day 2017!

Posted by Tkulp , 29 May 2017 · 420 views

I guess today is a good day for the kind of thinking that I have been doing. Memorial day! A day tor remembering those that have died, that we might be free.

I am sorry, but the only one that overwhelms my mind is Jesus Christ. To understand what the writer of Hebrews says about the TOTAL life of Jesus Christ. His existence and part in creation and then His obedience, leaving His heavenly home and the Father (Father to be), that He loved, to become a human being. Not just any human being, but one that would have to live without any error, no mess-ups, sinless, to end up with a tortured death, a one of a kind sacrifice.

All of that just to set anyone, free from SIN, who comes, repentant, humbly, surrendering all, willing to die completely to the flesh and self, spiritually as He did physically. Obedient to Jesus' commands, especially to take up our cross and follow Him. We can be pure, holy, and walk with Him and His Father, through this life and the next, even as He walked (John 17), if we remain faithful, as Jesus remained faithful.

Jesus offers to carry the 'burden' of that life-style along with us, if we will allow Him to.

Wow! What a day of remembrance!!

Oh, but along with those memories, I was also reading and entering a comment to my forum on "Answer!__Test_Truth or Error??”, the devotional of A.B. Simpson, and the letter of 2 John; what they are really saying. How they seem to disagree with so much that people are being taught and believe as truth. <http://ecommunity.cm...or/#entry19505>

Then I felt to write to an email regarding the issues, and finally that I should post all of what you are currently reading here.

Here is the email...

The following is a major strike against the teachings of error in America today, from the apostle John.

"Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, but receive a full reward."

The fact that you work out your salvation with fear and trembling but, that you can lose what you have worked for!
2John 1:6-9 (Now this is love: that we walk according to his commandments.) This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning; thus you should walk in it. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, people who do not confess Jesus as Christ coming in the flesh. This person is the deceiver and the antichrist!
Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, but receive a full reward. Everyone who goes on ahead and does not remain in the teaching of Christ does not have God. The one who remains in this teaching has both the Father and the Son.
....also true love defined,2Jn 1:5 And now I beg you, lady (Cyria), not as if I were issuing a new charge (injunction or command), but [simply recalling to your mind] the one we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.
2Jn 1:6 And what this love consists in is this: that we live and walk in accordance with and guided by His commandments (His orders, ordinances, precepts, teaching). This is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you continue to walk in love [guided by it and following it].

....also the fact that it was not God, Jehovah, the Father, that came in the flesh, that would be considered, antichrist; it was Jesus Christ that came in the flesh!

If you believe that you have Both the Father and the Son!

Amplified Bible
2Jn 1:6 And what this love consists in is this: that we live and walk in accordance with and guided by His commandments (His orders, ordinances, precepts, teaching). This is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you continue to walk in love [guided by it and following it].
2Jn 1:7 For many imposters (seducers, deceivers, and false leaders) have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge (confess, admit) the coming of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) in bodily form. Such a one is the imposter (the seducer, the deceiver, the false leader, the antagonist of Christ) and the antichrist.
2Jn 1:8 Look to yourselves (take care) that you may not lose (throw away or destroy) all that we and you have labored for, but that you may [persevere until you] win and receive back a perfect reward [in full].
2Jn 1:9 Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine [is disloyal to what Jesus Christ taught], do not receive him [do not accept him, do not welcome or admit him] into [your] house or bid him Godspeed or give him any encouragement.
2Jn 1:11 For he who wishes him success [who encourages him, wishing him Godspeed] is a partaker in his evil doings.
